Practice Facilities
Mallard Pointe offers golfers the area's most total golf practice facility. Enjoy practicing or instruction on our 10 acre grass tee area and range with six target greens, over 350 yards of total length, dual practice zones for practice in different wind conditions, sunlight, or approach angles.
For those looking to truly hone their skill, or get instruction on how - construction of the practice fairway bunker and greenside sand bunkers is COMPLETE! Get in the sand today and practice towards perfection.
Located adjacent to the West practice zone is the chipping green that has game like undulation and slope. Lies vary from rough, fairway and any shot one might encounter on the real course. A short game chipping lesson is just right for any golfer. Also, nestled between the Proshop, Villas, and 9 and 18 greens is the putting green. This green has been getting special attention as of late and is shaping up nicely as we head towards fall. This is where a par 36 of your strokes (or more) come from in a round. PGA Tour players average around 60-65% of greens hit in regulation. So, we'd all be doing well to hit 50% of them. The next time you practice "hitting a bucket of balls" consider utilizing these specialty areas that are unique to Mallard Pointe Golf Course. Of course, lessons are availabe in any area, and this is where they pay off quick!
Individual and group private instruction is available by appointment with our Professional teaching staff. Clinics for beginners, women and juniors are held throughout the season. Custom clinics are also available for corporate and golf outings.
Teaching Philosophy
Our objective in teaching the game of golf is to help our students improve their skills and develop their abilities. We feel an obligation to show a student how to benefit best from a lesson. The student will know and have an understanding of what will occur during the lesson. They will be given reasons for our suggestions and instruction for change. All instruction is tailored to a player's personal goals, physical ability and limitations, and knowledge of the game. And above all, learning golf is fun!
